New Calling

This picture I included because I love what is symbolizes. It makes you think about what sacrament meeting is really supposed to be about. Early Morning Seminary Students...love the photo in the back!

Thankfully, I don't have to give up my young women's calling. If they would've released me from young women's, I would've thought twice about accepting, but they didn't, so I accepted my new calling as Morningside Director. Now, you are probably asking what that calling is...I had to ask myself. Well, you know how Ted is an early morning seminary teacher? Well, when the seminary teachers have in-service (once a month), I am in charge of the activity the students do. Of course, the seminary council (which consists of youth in seminary), decide what activity they would like, and I am the one who helps them carry it out. I am so excited to work with the youth in the stake, and see their bright and shining spirits early in the morning, because mine sure isn't that bright and shiny at 5 am. I went to seminary on Friday, and it is sooo early! I am going to have to start going to bed at 8:30 pm the night before so I can wake up at 4 am. But, it will be all worth it to help with the activities and be involved with the amazing youth that willingly wake up early to participate in early morning seminary. I am impressed at the dedication the youth in this area have toward seminary. When I was in high school, I skipped seminary all the time, and when I did go, I didn't really appreciate it. And, I had release time, which meant it was in the middle of my school day, not at 5 in the morning. So, it is refreshing, and a huge testimony builder to see young men and women rise early to learn more about the gospel. It proves that there is still hope for the future!

On another note, Ted and I were lucky enough to have an investigator sit with us at church today. As we sat through sacrament, I looked at the procedings with the eyes of an investigator, not a person who has been a member my whole life and takes the LDS culture for granted. I felt the spirit so much stronger by paying attention to the talks, singing the words of the hymns, not talking while the sacrament was being passed, and taking the sacrament with the intent of doing better in my life. If we take a step back and really think about what we are doing instead of just going through the motions every week, it will mean so much more. We need to be continually renewing our testimony of the Savior by going to church, not just going because it is a habit, or everyone else is doing it. Next week when you go to church, look at the meetings as if it were your first time, and you were investigating the LDS faith. You will get so much more out of it.

Unveiling

Front of the store unveiled!Great ending to a long week!

It is here! The last two weeks have been insane! We unpacked the store, built it out, and opened this week! It looks so good! I would show you pictures of the store, but in fear of having it replicated, I cannot show pictures. You will just have to come and visit! :)

My employees are wonderful! I have eight people who work in the store with me, and each one of them bring something different to the team. A couple of the girls are in my ward, and then my three shift leads all have husbands going to the medical school in Glendale, and are friends with some of my friends from Idaho. It is such a small world! I love it!

So, if I am slow to post things about my life from now on out, it is because I am spending all my time working. Thank goodness I love my job!!! And, how many people can honestly say that?
