This is Adam unloading the semi in front of me. I was driving the truck (pictured below) and my mom was driving the semi. Adam makes it look like loading and hauling the hay with the tractor is easy, but it is an art.

Here is one of our last loads of hay we brought in this fall.

We have finished loading and hauling our hay and straw! Yeah! Lets all shout for joy!!! Now, we are turning back on our pivots and getting ready to start plowing up our ground. We are hoping to get at least 120 acres planted with winter wheat like we did last year. And we want to get the rest of the 600 acres of wheat ground plowed up this fall so we can plant first thing this spring.

Home Work

Here are the new bushes we planted where we had the insanely overgrown bushes before in front of our house. I think I might plant some tulips inbetween the bushes too. Let me know what you think.

Any of you who have been out to my house, know how we had these insane bushes that overran the sidewalk up to our front door. Well, we decided to get rid of these little annoyances. So, we hooked the pickup up to the bushes with a chain and pulled them out. (I think this was Ted's favorite part of the day.) I am so excited that you can actually see our sidewalk!!!

Here is another pile of wood we got. We have to split this wood and stack it before winter. I think that Ted has recuited his brothers and Dad to come out to our house this conference weekend and split wood with us. He said it used to be a family tradition for their family to split wood on confernce weekend. I say, lets keep the tradition alive, because more hands make lighter work.

Here is the wood after we have dumped it. It comes nicely sized, and it is easy to move (with the right equipment). Now, we have to stack it all, and hope that we can get it all ready before the winter comes.

We were getting ready to dump this load at our house. I have a video of it coming off of the truck, but it wouldn't load for some reason. It was way cool how it fell off the truck!

Here is one of the loads of wood we got on Friday. Look at how proud Ted is of his hard work.

Ted got the day shift off of work on Friday, and then worked the night shift, which was nice, because we got a lot of house work done. We have been getting ready for the winter, so as I have mentioned before, we have been wood hunting. Ted found some great wood for us! It is like he is our little squirel that collects nuts for the winter. Ain't I so lucky?

Utah

Here is the Devil's Slide. It is famous in Utah. When we were on our way up to the baby blessing from Heber City, we drove past this, and Ted wanted me to take a picture. It is magnificent looking.

This mountain is up by Echo Canyon on your way to Morgan. It was so cool!

Here is the view from one of our balconies in the hotel.

The hotel had this heated pool, that was way nice. We went for a swim the night we got there. It was fun, because we were the only two people out there swimming. As you can see from the view, there is the dam in the bottom of the valley. It was a quiet hotel/lodge. Very nice!

We stayed the night down there, because the wedding was on Saturday, and the baby blessing was on Sunday. So, we decided that since the wedding was in the Provo Canyon, that we should just keep going up the canyon over to Heber City and Park City. So, we had found this cool hotel to stay in between the two cities. It is called The Lodge at Stillwater. It was so nice! We had a large room with 20 foot ceilings, 2 balconies, and a breathtaking view. It is located by a dam, so you get even more that just beautiful mountains to look at.

I thought this tunnel thing was so cool! I had to take a picture! It was kind of funny, I was born and raised in Utah, so I am used to the mountains and all that go with them, but for some reason, they seemed so much more beautiful and untouchable to me this trip than they have ever felt to me before.

The bride and groom exchanging rings. They have been dating on and off for five years, and he finally decided to ask her to marry him after she was getting engaged to another man. I guess sometimes you do what you gotta do when you love someone. They are a way cute couple!

Here is a rock the people who own the house, where the wedding was at, had on display inside their home. They had top of the line everything in their home. It was pretty cool! Everything that I had seen in my interior design books at school, I saw in their home, and more amazing things too. They had a theatre, work out room, amazing bathrooms the kitchen was unexplainable and amazing, and the rest of the house, wow, it was way over the top!

This is the garage part of the house, it was really the only part we could get a picture of, because the rest of the house that wasn't surrounded by trees, or too close to a hill to take a picture. But, the home was amazing!

We went to Utah this last weekend for a wedding and a baby blessing. The wedding was up in Sundance, located at a beautiful home. The wedding was for Ted's cousin. It was a serene outdoor wedding in the tops of the mountains. There were a lot of family members there, which was great to see, because most of us live far away from the Provo Canyon area. There were so many people there, we felt claustrophobic. So, we left a little early. We loved the ceremony and the dinner was also very yummy! They had Good Wood cater the wedding, and they have delicious food!

The baby blessing was for Ted's sister, Charity's little baby boy, Colton. The blessing was so powerful and brought everyone to tears. He is such a special little guy, and has a very important purpose here on the earth! We had a potluck dinner at their house after the blessing, and I was going to take pictures because pretty much the whole family was there, but I forgot. We love you guys, and are so happy for your new addition to the family!

Jon's Cross Country

Jon is up at the lead of the pack!

We went to Ted's little brother, Jon's, cross country meet this last Friday. It was a lot of fun! Jon always does such a great job! He is ranked 6th in the state. Well, he sprained his ankle a couple weeks ago, and he is just getting over a nasty cold, so he was a little under his game, but he still did amazing! He is such a trooper and works so hard at everything he does. GO JON!!!

Late Night Endeavour

Here are the raspberry starts we planted last night. After the third time planting raspberries here, we sure hope they live this time!

Ted also inherited a tree from Quinton (our neighbor), so we planted it in the front of our house with the raspberries. It is supposed to grow really big, but we will see if we can keep it alive first.

Our late night endeavour last night was planting some raspberry starts in our yard. It has been a plan of ours for a while, and we have actually planted raspberries there twice before, but this time we got some really big ones from our neighbor Quinton Murdock, and he says there is no way we can kill these ones. We did everything we could think of to help them live and grow. We even put horse manure down and rototilled it in with the soil for fertilizer. Well, last night I was also winterizing our lawn with fertilizer and some weed killer, and Ted thought it would be a good idea to put some fertilizer on the starts to help them grow, and the weed killer would keep the weeds out. So, he spread a couple handfuls over the area we planted the starts in, and called it good. Well, after he did that, he remembered that the weed killer actually kills broad leaf, and raspberries would fit into that category. So, we are hoping that he didn't put too much on them or else we will be starting over again for the fourth time next year. I think that Quinton will either laugh at us or cuss us for killing so many of his raspberry starts if we do kill them again. Anyway, long story, I know, but it was a fun night getting those all done. I had to take the pictures this morning, because it was way too dark to get a picture of them last night. Well, hope all of your house and late night projects work out too!

Charity & Nate's Adorable Family

This is Me, baby Colton, Ted, Nate, little Jack, Charity, and Conley when we visited them a couple days after Colton was born. They have the cutest little family! I was so excited to hold Colton. I just love holding babies...they are so precious!

Here is brave little Conley riding her horse for her first barrel competition. She had a time of 100 seconds! Amazing job, I might add!

We had the opportunity to go down and visit Ted's oldest sister Charity and her husband Nate. They are the nicest couple, and they have the cutest kids! Conley is their oldest, and she is such a brave little cowgirl (as you can see from the pictures). Jack is next in line, and he is such a good behaved little boy! And they just barely had their latest addition to their family show up. He is so cute! His name is Colton, and he is so tiny! I cannot believe how small babies are when they are first born. They grow up so quickly!

Back to Work

Today it is sunny, and time to go back to work. Wish us luck with all of our projects we need to get done. I hope they will all go smoothly. I hope all of your projects and fall work will go well too!Love ya!

Looks like Rain...

I was following my mom yesterday (she's in the tractor) in my truck as we were hurrying to another field to get some more hay hauled before the rain came in today. She is the toughest and hardest working woman I know. I got to drive the semi and she loaded me with hay. I mean, what other woman do you know will drive a tractor all day and all night, while still working on a million other things that need to be fixed and done on the farm?

The rain puddle outside on our driveway. It was really cool seeing how quickly the rain came down and made a puddle. I remember being out in Missouri on a trip and we got caught in a flood. The rain out there is like 100 times stronger than the rain out here in the west.

The rain from the gutter is coming out pretty fast. There is a nest of wasps that we can't get to in this rain gutter, so I am hoping it rains hard and their nest gets washed out of it.

Our lawn and bushes look very green when the sky is gray and it is raining.

Outside our back window, the storm had some pretty strong thunder and lightning, which always makes it more exciting.

Today is a glorious day! We have been so busy trying to get all of our 3rd crop hay in, that we haven't had a chance to sit down and relax a little. So, I think the Lord decided to give us a day to rest and so he sent the rain. We can't go out and haul in the rest of our hay or do too much out in the fields, because with the tractors being so heavy and the ground being wet, we would sink into the ground. We have a neighbor farmer who is trying hard to get his potatoes harvested. He has been running the trucks since 7 am this morning and they all have been going like mad. He is probably going to have to stop and wait until the rain passes too. His truck drivers will be happy, because they will get to slow down and take a little break. Well, I am excited, because I get to clean my house and do some long-needed chores around here, like washing clothes. Yeah! I hope all of you enjoy the rain! today too!

Lumberjack

Here is some wood out by some of our grain bins. I think that this pile we are going to leave for Adam and Morgan to build a corral for their little calf, Fern.

Ted's little brother Jon is an avid photographer, and so he was trying to get the best shots out on the farm. He decided to climb up to the top of one of our grain bins, so I decided to snap a pic of him while he was in his own realm.

Here is Ted in his pickup with Zac and the dogs hitching a ride in the back. Ted's dad is letting us borrow a trailer from him so we can collect wood. I thought that was really nice of him.

I found these old tires out there and had to take a picture. There is an old grain auger in the background.

Here is some of the old corral wood that we found out there. There are tons of nails, so you have to be really careful where you drive or you can get a flat tire.

Ted is all about being completely self-sufficient, which is great in my mind, because that means no more propane and power bills. Anyway, he bought this really nice wood burning stove insert for our house this last year, and now he is going out and finding wood to store for the winter. He got this permit to go up into the mountains and get the dead trees and cut them up and haul them out for fire wood, which is nice. We also found some old corrals out on our farm that we are now collecting and bringing in to use for firewood. I have decided that it is best to just go out and find your own wood to burn. Last year, we drove up to Rigby to get wood from the Yellowstone Building place, but it is much more fun going "wood hunting". Plus, you get more of an adventure! The only down-fall to it is, Ted is extremely allergic to sagebrush, we found out. So, he gets way sick with his allergies, which is no fun at all. Ted's brothers, Zac and Jon, came out and helped us collect the wood.

Rosario's Baby Shower

Here is Rosario opening some of the gifts that she recieved.

Since I was the photographer, I figured I needed to get a picture of me as proof I was there, even though it turned out like this.

We were all enthralled as Rosario was opening her presents. I think that all the cute baby gifts are the mesmerizing, because they are all very creative and thought through.

It was nice to see how Spanish and English sisters came together and mingled with each other.

Everyone is so happy to be there supporting Rosario. She is such a sweet lady!

Here is some decorations we put up. The balloons were my part, and Dianne picked these beautiful wild flowers out of her yard for the center piece.

This is the beautiful cake that I purchased from Wal-Mart for Rosario. Ted told me that I should just make the cake, but I could never compete with something as good as this! And it was also very tasty!

Here are some of the decorations we had in the house! Look at all those balloons! The long skinny ones had these little faces on them. The kids loved them.

All of us gathered around to watch Rosario open presents. There are still quite a few people on another couch you can't see, and in the kitchen getting some yummy food! We had people bring a dish of food to help us so that we didn't have to make it all, and that was the best idea, because every one's food was so delicious and it all went together very well!

I am a visiting teacher to the Spanish Sisters in our ward boundaries, and so I get to know all of them very well. I absolutely love all of them. They are very nice, welcoming, and sincere. Most of them do not speak English, so a lot of the time, we speak Spanglish. It is fun, and we still get to know each other very well. Anyway, one of them is pregnant, and so we decided to throw her a baby shower! It was so much fun! We had quite a few people come, which was good, because you never know who is going to come so you just plan for more than expected. So, thankfully, we had plenty of food, and Dianne Clark (my visiting teaching sister) was nice enough to let the party be held at her house. We had a lot of fun decorating. She is a painter, so she has a big imagination, and I got to blow up all the balloons! There were like, 30 balloons, so I was exhausted by the time it was over. But, it was a lot of fun, and here are some fun pictures from the shower! Hope you enjoy!
