Baby Now or Later?

So, it is in the air all around me... I feel like I need to get going on something... You know what I am talking about, yup BABIES! (I am sure that if Ted is reading this right now, he just passed out!!!) Anyway, I have had a lot of time this winter to think and ponder about motherhood and children, but I feel that it is not enough to just ponder it. I need opinions.
I have friends and family members all around having babies. There were four babies born to my Dad's family this last year; and one to Ted's family this last year, with two more on the way this year. I have had four friends have babies this last year, and a couple more coming this year.
So, I sit back and evaluate life...I am actually quite content where I am at right now. I am not looking or really feeling like I need to change anything in my life. Yes, there is always that question in the back of my mind asking myself if I should be the next one to have kids. And, we have felt that whenever we are ready to go ahead, but when are we ready? Are you ever ready to have kids? I don't think anyone is ever completely prepared for kids before they have had one, because they don't know what to expect or what it is like. I know friends and family that have kids say they could never imagine life without them, so it is an amazing thing. I just don't want to rush it, you know. Ted and I have kind of chatted casually about it, and we think we should wait. We think that this is a good idea.
Tell us what you think in the poll. Wait or go ahead now?

This video made me cry..Please watch!

I loved this video! I watched it on Ellen today, and then I also had a friend send it to me through email. I cried because I loved it so much. It completely describes me and how I am feeling right now. I love to see this young lady put it into horse terms for me and her both. She is an amazing rider and the horse is wonderful! What a team they are! LOVE IT!

Sick :(

So, on Sunday I got sick...way sick! I think that it is the same thing that everyone else has gotten. Ted had this cold last week, and had to work all week all day long. I do not know how he did it. I was in bed half the day yesterday, and so far most of the day today. I am supposed to play in a Volleyball Tournament tomorrow, and I need to get feeling better. So far, I have taken lots of medicine, soaked in a hot Apple Cider Vinegar bath (which helped a lot), and am using a humidifier in our room to loosen up the mucus. I have a soar throat, runny/stuffy nose, and I bet I will get a cough next. If anyone knows what else I could do to help me get over this cold faster, please let me know. I hate being sick, and this is such a busy week for me, so I need to get feeling better fast. Well, I hope that everyone else is feeling okay. This is a nasty cold, so I hope it misses you!

Friend wedding fiasco!

Hello! So, I talked to my mom and the family of the friend who is getting married to the boy that we all do not agree with, and after reading the comments posted and votes, I did something that was terribly hard, but necessary. I called my friend, and she did not answer her phone (which came as no surprise). So, I left a message. I told her that I wanted to come to the wedding, but I felt awkward coming since there was only a few family members that were invited. I told her that I felt that family should be there over a friend. I told her that I wanted to still do something for her though, so I asked her to call me and give me her address so I can send something to her. I felt like this was the right thing to do. I wanted to show her my support through getting her something, yet let her know that her family is important and should come first. I also thought this told her that her family should be more important to her than her friends. I hope that this is a good way to get my point across. Thank you for your supporting comments. I did what what advice I was given, and I do feel that it helped me a lot. I am hoping that I have done the right thing.

Hope you like pics, because here are some more!

Fashion Show

So, just a little bit about my own life...I am helping some girls with Junior Miss again this year. This will be my third year helping girls. I love it! I also just got done with the Margene's Fashion show and helping the girls with modeling, walking, smiling, etc. They all did so amazing! I was so proud...as I am every year. I miss working at Margene's because it was one of my favorite jobs I have ever had. Anyway, I am way excited for the Junior Miss pageants this year! I hope that all the girls I am helping will keep doing just as good as the girls have done in previous years. I have been so pleased with how each of the girls I have helped have done, and how they have continued to accomplish so much in their lives. I feel that the pageant and their hard work helps them with all their future endevors in life, and also helps others as they look up to them.
We are helping the leaders of tomorrow and the next generation, today!

Another Wedding!!!

Okay, so now that I got all that other stuff off my chest, I actually have another friend getting married. She is my best friend from Utah. She is 22 years old and I think he is either 22 or 23 years old. He is from Arizona and is a contractor with his dad. He owns his own home, and so she will be moving to Arizona after they are married, because that is where his job is. She is getting married in June, and I am one of her bridesmaids! I am so excited! We have been friends since we started riding horses together when we were 9 and 10 years old! She has been one of the best friends a person could ask for. So, they are getting married in the Bountiful Temple, and she is going to come up and we are going to go wedding dress shopping together! She is just starting to plan things, because she just got engaged. So, her colors are pastel pink, brown, and cream. I think that will look great! She is going to have a reception in Utah and Arizona. I am hoping that I we will have enough money to fly down to Arizona so that we can go to both receptions. Anyway, I am so happy for her, and he is such a nice and responsible young man (for what I hear from her anyway)! I am so sad because I have never met him. But, he is going to be coming up to visit her again in April, so I am going to go visit them. I think it is going to be way hard on my friend to go to Arizona though, because she is so close with her family. They are basically irrseperable. I guess that is why we have phones and cell phones now a days though, so that we can keep in touch better! Well, I will keep you updated on her wedding plans, because I think I am just as excited as she is for her to get married! Anyway, have a great day!

Friendhip/Family/Wedding Issues!!!

Today is Saturday! Yeah! It is so cold and snowy, but we need the water! So, I have a dilemma...I have a friend getting married in less than one week. She is only 20 years old and is marrying a guy who is 23. They are both working at a fast food joint, and have no money for the wedding. He hasn't even bought her a ring, and is not helping pay for the wedding at all. They just recently moved in together, into his apartment. He has went to a semester of school and then dropped out. So, he is not interested in school, but wants to be a police officer in Los Angeles where he is from. He also wants to move there as soon as she gets done with hair school. He wants her to work down there in Cali and support him while he is getting ready to be a police officer. He is lazy and has deep rooted anger issues. He has turned her against her family, and has caused problem after problem between them. And she is just finishing up with hair school. She has rebelled against her parents to get married to this guy. And so she is only inviting her mom and dad (because she has to), and her grandma and grandpa to the wedding. He is inviting his whole family and friends. She said to her family that she couldn't invite any more family or friends because she has no money to pay for the wedding, let alone a reception. She is not inviting any friends or anyone else to this wedding, because of lack of money. She is borrowing a dress, and barely able to afford a cake. They are getting married in a church, so luckily no money needed for that. I feel extremely sad for her because she is not going to have a wedding like she should have or like every woman should have. Her parents have offered to help pay for the wedding, but she refuses them and won't even talk to them. This is a really sad situation and I am afraid of it not working out in the end.
What can I do to help her? I pretty much invited myself to the wedding, because she didn't really want to invite me, but I feel like I need to be there to give her support. Yet, I am not happy about the marriage.
I am afraid to talk to her about getting married because I am afraid it will ruin our friendship if I tell her not to get married to this guy. So, what do I do? Just go and put on a happy smile and act like I am happy for her? OR try to call her and talk to her about things NOW before they get any farther along? Another hard thing is, when I call her she is always at work or school or too busy to talk. I can barely get a text message from her. I feel terrible and my heart is breaking because I am worried about her. Pray hard for me to know what I need to do, because I feel like it is up to me to try to help her and I don't know how or what to say to her.

Fun pics

Here are some fun pics from the last year!

Don't know what to do

So, have you ever had a day where you just sit down and don't know what to do? Why not watch a movie, clean the house, play with the dogs, get a job, or something? You just don't want to do any of that stuff, and you don't know why. That is how today is...I have started doing laundry, washed dishes, stocked the fire, and cleaned up every inch of the house that I can find, but I still feel like I need to be doing more but can't. Being stuck in a rut is not as bad as they say, but it sure does feel like I have been here for the last couple months, and it is probably because I have been. But, man, as soon as the weather breaks we are going to be back out on the farm working like never before! Actually, it will probably be just like last year, but harder. I guess it seems harder because each year we get older, and lazier. At least we can look forward to retiring some day. I bet that will probably be when we die. And who knows, maybe that will be here sooner than we think.
So, back to my original thought, I am stuck in a rut... I need suggestions as to what I should be doing. Now, when I mean suggestions, I mean nice, homemaker suggestions. I do not want to go off the deep end! Please, send some suggestions my way. I need them desperately! Thanks!

As they say, time flies by when you're having fun! It is especially true as you get married, and start a whole new life together. We have now been married for a year and a couple months, and it feels like just yesterday we got married. Wow!
Life these last couple months have been really hard and rewarding. We have been able to connect with the next life more through several people passing away, including our prophet and our father. It hurts so bad, and yet it is okay because we know we will see them again.
Right now, Ted is working hard at his store. It is amazing how he can work such a long day and still come home with lots of energy! He is also going to college three nights a week to get his master's. He is going into Human Performance and Community Emergency Preparedness. Luckily he has time during the days usually to do some homework, because once he gets home the day is already gone.
I am waiting for Spring to start working again. I will be helping my family on the farm this year. We will be running a little over 1200 acres of hay and grain. Hopefully the Spring comes soon. This winter has been very cold and snowy! We sure are glad though. After the last couple years with a drought, it is nice to have some moisture. Plus, the snow is so beautiful anyway.
Adam is up at school right now, and is dating an awesome girl from just down the road. She is also going to school at the same college. They have so much in common, and seem to be happy with the way their relationship is going. It is still too new to know if there is going to be a future, but we are hoping there will be.
My mom is working hard everyday. Between chores, and getting all the snow drifts out of her driveway so she can get out of her house, she seems to have a full day everyday. She is keeping busy which helps, but life is so much harder without our dad around. She says it is so hard going to the house every night and not having someone there to talk to and spend time with. We kids are trying to do the best we can to help, but it just isn't the same.
From what I hear from Ted, his family is doing well. His brother just had a best friend pass away, which we can only imagine would be extremely hard. We cannot believe how Lissa is growing up so quickly! She is in the good old Junior High stage of life, that brings millions of changes and challenges in itself. She is such an amazing girl, and she will make it through. Jon and Zac are wrestling and tearing it up! They are good at everything they do! What great boys they are, to hold onto their values and be such great role models. I have noticed that each and every one of the kids in Ted's family are people that you can really look up to, and they have great talents, and geniune personalities. What a great generation they are! We hope that our kids will grow up to be like our families.
All of our cute little animals are doing great! We have two dogs, and two cats now. They seem to be happy and full of life. The dogs are full of mischief. Everytime we let them out, they seem to run away; at least they come home eventually.
Well, life is busy, so I had best be going. Ted is wondering what I am up to on the home front, so I will talk to you all later!
