Workin' It...

Not much is happening in our lives, except work, work, work. All I can say is, I thank the Lord everyday for giving us Sundays to refresh our spirits with rest, and enlighten ours souls with the gospel. During the week, we get caught up in the rush of the world, working hard at our jobs, and trying to keep up with the demands of life, that we rarely have time to sit down and relax, taking time to enjoy everything we are blessed with. But, we are very glad to have a beautiful home, great neighbors, a welcoming ward, good jobs, amazing friends and family, and each other. I hope everyone takes the time to sit down and count their blessings during the busy weeks. It really helps, and brings us closer to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Take time to remember Him and appreciate the fact that He has given us everything we have.

Blockin' It

I included some sunset pics, because I sure love them!

These guys are amazing! They dug the trench for the foundation and poured the cement yesterday, and today, they have laid 350 feet of cinder blocks 6 feet high!

LONG FENCE

Arizona should be known for their block fences, because there sure are a lot of them. We have joined the famous Arizona block wall/fence club, and officially got our first wall put up today. The wall runs along the back part of our property so we can have a barrier between our yard and a service road our neighbors like to use. We plan on putting up the rest of the fence around our house when we are sure we don't want to buy the lots on either side of us and block them in too. I am sooo happy to have a wall! It is beautiful, if walls can be beautiful. Ted suggested I paint it with the colors of the sunset, because they are so pretty here. We'll see, if time permits. Oh, and I did get the job I applied for! So, I official am a working woman...again. I am going to be selling wedding dresses at a store just five miles from where Ted works, called, I Do I Do Bridal. Wish me luck! I am so excited! I think that working with brides will give me lots of great writing ideas.

Making hay while the sun shines...

Here is me and Sarah when she came to Idaho this summer. I can't get over how tan I am! Farm work really does make you tan! Now I am a pasty white! Gotta love it!

Today has been a hay growin' day (meaning busy)! Ted and I got up early, got ready for church, ate breakfast, then read over our talks to each other. Then, off to church we went. At church, we had the opportunity to speak, got ordained, and then set apart for our new callings (Ted is the Priest's Quorum Advisor and I am a Beehive Advisor). Then, we came home, changed our clothes, got some dutch oven dinner cooking, and had our friends Sarah and Brenton come over and eat dinner with us. Thanks for coming! We love having you! Then, we went to see Sarah's horses (her family just brought down two of her horses from Utah), which was a lot of fun! It is funny because Sarah and I are both cowgirls, but we married city boys, so it is hilarious to watch the boys try to handle the horses. Then, we came home and cleaned up dinner, and did our chores. After that, Ted crashed...he is in bed asleep right now. Poor guy, he never gets a break. So, I am sitting here blogging about our day, because I love days like these, full of exciting things to do.

Capture Arizona

Here are some of the sunsets we've had since we moved to Arizona a couple weeks ago. The pictures do NOT do justice. In fact, before the sky lights up like this, the mountains in the East catch the color of red, pink, and purple. It is amazing! I will have to take my camera out with me when Ted and I go for morning walks, because the sunrises are just as breathtaking. I am so glad we live in such a beautiful place. Sure, it is a desert, but it still holds something special. Enjoy the pics!

This last month has been crazy!!! With packing, driving 900 miles, and unpacking, December went by with the blink of an eye. I can say that now, because it is over. But the month did go by quickly. Ted got a new job with Verizon Wireless in the west Phoenix area, so we decided to move. Here are a couple pictures of our home. We LOVE it! Where else can you buy a territorial home? Maybe California. But, we love it here! The weather is amazing, sixties and seventies. Since we moved down the weekend before Christmas, it honestly doesn't feel like we had Christmas, because Christmas includes snow and cold temperatures. We won't complain though...we love running around in short sleeves. We go for walks every morning, and the sunsets are just as breathtaking as Idaho's (I didn't think it was possible).

Well, I just had a job interview today at a bridal store in Glendale, so keep your fingers crossed for me. I think that if I get the job, it will be great, but if not, I will have more time to write, which is great too. So, it is a win-win situation. I've decided to leave it in the Lord's hands, like we have everything else with this move...and that's why everything has worked out so well.
