Drive or Fly?

So, a big couple of days are coming up for the Garling Family, and we are trying to figure out if we should fly or drive to Idaho. We checked flights from Southwest, and it would be about $600 to fly into SLC, then renting a car would be another $50-$200, so we would be up around $800. Then, we checked Allegiant, and it would be about $400 to fly from Mesa to Idaho Falls, but their flights only leave on Friday, and come back on Monday, which means we would miss one of the events we are flying up for. So, we kinda decided to wait for a little while to see if plans would change or become more concrete, but nothing has happened. So, Ted and I decided to calculate how much it would be to drive. We came up with around $250-$300. Granted, it would take us a 14 1/2 hour drive overnight, but we could do it. And, we would have to bank on no breakdowns or unexpected stops to make it in time. But, it would be substantially cheaper to drive. So, we are planning on driving up to Idaho Falls from Phoenix. How fun for us! We actually love road trips, and we haven't taken one in a while, so this should be good. If you're wondering what is going on, we will have a mission farewell for Jon, a mission homecoming for Zac, a young women medallion award for Lissa, and a wedding for Adam. So, it is going to be a busy weekend, to say the least. Well, at least we still have about a month until we have to actually decide what to do. But, as of right now, driving is the ticket, because flying is way too expensive for our budget.

From our experiences driving always turns into a more expensive or just as expensive a trip as flying! Hopefully you have better luck than we do!
