Josh's Wedding in Kona, Hawaii

Josh and Rachel Garling
Karleen, Jake, Josh, and Rachel. Ted's mom made this quilt and carried the whole way to Hawaii for Josh and Rachel. What an amazing woman!!!

The hotel where Ted's mom put on the luncheon. It was amazing, having the waves splash up against the rocks right next to the luncheon area.

We were having a little fun before the wedding, taking pictures. Ted's dad loves his Hawaiian Gold.

This is what the ocean looked like right next to the hotel. It was amazing! I have tons more photos, but it would take me all day to upload them all.

Ted and his dad eating "Hawaiian Gold" (pineapple). It is so delicious down there!

We went to Josh's wedding on last Saturday in Kona (the big island of Hawaii). It was beautiful there! Very different from the island of Oahu, more rural and desert. The hotel Ted's parents stayed in was right up next to the ocean, and instead of a beach, they had rocks, so the pics were awesome. As you can see, I took a lot of pictures. It was a fun day.
So, Josh is now married to a girl named Rachel Larsen (Garling). She is from Boise, and a couple years older than him. She served her mission in Finland, and they met at BYU-Idaho. After a rocky start (Rachel had been engaged to another boy, and had to break off the engagement, so she wasn't ready to date right after that, and she met Josh the day after she broke up with her last fiance), they both decided to go to Hawaii (unknown to the other person). Josh went down there for selling alarm systems, and Rachel went down to be a caretaker for an older woman.
They met up, and fell in love after talking on the phone for a couple months. Sounds like a fairy tell, huh? Well, they got engaged after a month of real dating. Typical BYU-Idaho student story. This wedding is actually the reason why we went to Hawaii.
The wedding went well, and the luncheon was amazing! Charity, Ted's sister, made a movie slide show for them, and Karleen, Ted's mom, wrote a song that me, Ted, Adam, and Charity all sang to Josh and Rachel. It was about their dating, engagement, and marriage put to Disney songs. It was great!
Now, Josh and Rachel are going to be moving back up to Twin Falls to live and work this weekend. We wish them luck!
