After the program about our family
Okay, so this weekend was crazy with the wedding and everything going on with that, but the next day, Ted, me, and my mom all went down to Utah for a huge Hales Gathering. It was something that they are just starting and this is the first get-together. It was a lot of fun! We all met at the South Ogden Park and talked to lots of people we knew and hadn't seen in a while, along with finding out more family history. Later we went over to the Browning Center on the WSU campus and they had a program. It was a great program with many speakers talking about our family's history. There were also talent presentations that were all amazing! The keynote speaker was Elder Robert D. Hales. It was great having him there. When we were finishing up at the park before the program at the Browning Center, we got to meet and shake Elder Hales's hand. That we a neat experience. He looks you in the eye when he shakes your hand and talks to you, and you can see there is a lot of wisdom there in his eyes. That was probably the highlight of the day for us. One piece of information we thought was worth sharing was that the Hales name is in the top 10 names of the prodigy of the church. So, there are over 33,000 people in the church that come from the Hales family line. We thought that was awesome! It is probably because the Hales families usually have big families. Anyway, it was a great day!
